Dan Miller joined Tides Of Man in 2010, just in time to bring his soaring leads and intricate melodies to the bands sound at a pivotal moment in their career. Young And Courageous (2014) saw Tides take a leap of faith into the world of instrumental post-rock, which marked a drastic sonic departure from the progressive post-hardcore tendencies of the band’s previous musical output.

Featuring intricate and melodic guitar work from Dan and fellow guitarist Spencer Gill, the record puts the spotlight on the layered and dynamic instrumentation of the band. Few artists could pull off such a drastic change in sound, but Tides did just that.

Fast forward to 2018, and the band has released the monumental new album Every Nothing. Packing in all the emotional weight and beauty of its predecessor, Every Nothing also manages to step into a vast new sonic territory. The guitars truly shine, going everywhere from beautiful arpeggiated chords drenched in reverb, to pulsating rhythmic delay, all the way to huge slabs of heavy distortion.

Dan has recently picked up a Chapman ML-3 Pro Traditional and is very excited to join the Chapman family of artists.

Dan says “I first played a Chapman guitar at a music festival, where the brand had a booth set up. I fell in love with the feel and tone of these guitars, especially the ML-3 Pro Traditional. All of the details feel perfect. The tuners, the stainless steel frets, the action, the neck, it all felt so nice in my hands. I spoke with the Chapman representative, and I actually ended up playing that guitar for our set later that evening! It sounded so great on stage that I decided then and there that I was going to get one.”
