Dan has been working his way through the music industry in various roles over the last twelve years. Hailing from rural North East Scotland, his drive to play guitar and travel was realised from a young age, and this shows in the numerous roles between musician, tour manager, booking agent, band manager, and music business lecturer.
Having now been a guitarist for fourteen years, Dan's interests lie in pushing sonic boundaries and experimenting with sounds in a way that peek the interest of almost any listener. The fascination with experimental music has been long lasting since Dan's younger years, with a great interest in bands like Incubus, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Thrice, Karnivool and more, it's clear to see where the obsession with creating something unique has come from.
With this broad musical pallet, Dan has developed a style of playing that lends itself well to odd rhythms, complex time signatures and fast paced playing. This can be seen in his current bands / projects; Frontierer, Sectioned and Mountains Under Oceans.
Dan is currently using the Chapman Guitars 7 string titan, the ML-7T. This guitar is used primarily for his main band, Frontierer. Due to tour in the UK and Europe with a number of festivals in sight, the band and this outstanding guitar are clocking up a lot of road miles, so be sure to see them when and where you can.
Working in many areas of the music industry, it's clear to see that Dan Stevenson has a bright future and has been warmly welcomed to the Chapman Guitars family.
