Artist
Garrett Peters
Garrett is perhaps best known for his popular YouTube channel. However, this guitarist, composer, and teacher based out of Southern California has wowed audiences both online and off with his exceptional talent. His commitment to his videos and perfectionist work ethic seem at odds with his laid back, personable mentality, but both have earned him legions of fans and admirers from all over the world. Since first learning how to play the guitar in 2003, Garrett has strived to combine technical prowess with memorable musicality. He took lessons from Brian McAlpin, guitarist of Psychotic Waltz, for a number of years, then honed his skills by taking influence from some of the most prominent bands in the power metal and melodic death metal genres. From here he developed his now recognisable style, blending melodic leads with intense, aggressive riffs. He used these to great effect in the band Climhazzard, which he wrote and recorded in from 2007 to 2012.

Garrett’s YouTube channel, launched in 2009, has grown to have over 2 million views and over 16,000 subscriptions. His most popular video, a cover of Dethklok’s “Duncan Hills Coffee Jingle,” has accumulated over 300,000 views. His other popular cover videos include solos by Symphony X, Wintersun, and Jason Becker. He has also had the pleasure of competing and placing in several online guitar competitions. Garrett plays in melodic death metal band Mysidia, and is currently working toward releasing his first album for Shadowless, his solo project. He enjoys teaching guitar lessons in person in Orange County, as well over Skype.
